Client: Hypnos Beds
Date: 7-9th November 2016
Venues: Wycombe Lodge & The Pavilion
Hypnos Beds chose Lane End Conference Centre as the site for its international conference predominantly due to its proximity to Heathrow Airport, ease of travel for its delegates and its residential conference capabilities.
Hypnos Beds is an international brand that make luxury, bespoke beds for hotels and homes across the world and have experienced a growing influence within the UK. The event itself would include a showcase and demonstration of its new products to European distributors. The showcase and artisan demonstration was hosted inside The Pavilion, booked exclusively for Hypnos Beds’ international conference – another key reason for choosing Lane End Conference Centre to host this event.
As well as a showcase of the latest product range, Hypnos Beds Group Marketing Director Chris Ward discussed branding, values and its Royal connections with delegates. To provide informal networking opportunities and strengthen international relationships, a chocolate making team activity was hosted by Lane End Conference Centre’s regular partners Cocoa and Cream, ahead of a Celebratory dinner in the Wycombe Lodge building.
The Celebratory dinner included a drinks reception and full three-course meal, hosted privately in the Wycombe Lodge lounge, bar and dining room and providing ample networking opportunities with its international suppliers.
The venue’s flexibility in terms of providing dedicated event spaces meant that various exclusive spaces were utilised, keeping the group together in a private space and optimising networking opportunities.
The challenges were those you would expect of an international conference but Lane End’s ability and experience in hosting events of this size made for yet another successful event and a satisfied client.
BED OF ROSES
Hypnos Beds’ decision to use Lane End Conference Centre was something that not only resulted in a highly successful event but a positive partnership between both the client and venue.
The location of Lane End Conference Centre and its proximity to Heathrow airport may have been the key deciding factors for the client, but it was the service, catering and the Lane End team itself that ensured success.
Hypnos Beds’ Sarah Keen commented on the relationship and her satisfaction following the event:
“I just wanted to say a big thank you for everything Lane End Conference Centre has done over the past few days and months.
“I cannot tell you enough how amazing the venue is, the service, the food and of course the people. All the staff involved could not have done anymore to help and everyone was so friendly.”
CHALLENGES & SOLUTIONS
One the major challenges for the Hypnos Beds international conference was that of travel, but Lane End’s close proximity to Heathrow Airport ensured an easy journey for delegates and suppliers who had already been travelling for a number of hours. Due to the event running over the course of a number of days, guests were provided with comfortable accommodation in the Wycombe Lodge building.
The event itself ran smoothly but due to the number of different activities happening throughout the two days it was necessary to have a number of the venue’s spaces available and, in the case of The Pavilion, exclusive to Hypnos Beds. One of the main parts of the conference was the showcase which not only presented the products to those attending but also included an artisan who demonstrated the stitching on the mattress and why the beds are such a unique product. The flexibility of The Pavilion ensured this showcase was a great success and it also provided privacy with products worth £6-8,000 on show.
