Lane End Conference Centre has gained the maximum five star award in the Food Standards Agency’s Food Hygiene Rating Scheme.
The centre operates three dining rooms with three dedicated kitchens at its 26-acre site in Lane End, Buckinghamshire.
Together they serve five self-contained conference venues at the centre, each of which can be booked for exclusive use.
Head Chef Mike Day said: “There is no ‘big plate, small portions’ cuisine here - just good wholesome food, cooked on-site and served straight from the kitchen.”
Mike and his team of six full-time chefs work around the clock to provide delegates at the conference rooms with:
• full English breakfasts
• daily hot and cold buffet lunches
• table d’hôte dinner menus
• a great choice of meals for special occasions, including barbeque menus, themed dinner and gala dinner menus.
The Food Standards Agency has been working with local authorities to roll out the Food Hygiene Rating Scheme across England, Wales and Northern Ireland and the Food Hygiene Information Scheme in Scotland.
Food hygiene ratings give consumers the information they need when choosing where to eat out. They cover conference centres, hotels, restaurants, cafés, takeaways and food shops.
The five star Food Hygiene Rating award follows a programme of major refurbishments at Lane End. Work on the dining and business meeting facilities has included:
a new private boardroom for fine dining and senior executive meetings
transforming the Wycombe Hall conference suite by adding a new bistro-style restaurant
a new deck for alfresco dining at the centre’s Wycombe Lodge conference building
refurbishing and extending The Cabin games room and bar.
Refurbishments at Lane End have also included a direct fibre optic link that delivers ultrafast broadband at up to 100 megabytes per second.
Lane End’s Grade A+ broadband rating puts it in the top one per cent in Britain. Its broadband is nine times faster than the average speed in the UK.
That makes Lane End the perfect choice for high quality video conferencing and webcasting - enabling delegates not able to attend conference sessions to join in online.
One client, JATO Dynamics recently streamed its 120-delegate conference at Lane End to colleagues in 47 countries across the world.
Lane End’s Sales and Marketing Manager Heni Fourie said: “The JATO Dynamics event exemplified our cutting edge approach to conferences.
“We believe in seamlessly combining on-site meetings and online technology to provide clients with the best possible solutions helping them to gain maximum return on investment from their events.”
Lane End has also just unveiled its brand new website.
Its new interactive maps and floor plans help event managers searching for residential conference and training venues get all the information they need quickly and easily.
Lane End is celebrating the launch of the website by giving away shoes from celebrated French designer Christian Louboutin from September to November. See the new website for more details.
Phase two of the website - a series of videos outlining all the benefits the conference venue has to offer - is due for completion in early 2013.
Lane End is just an hour’s drive from the centre of London and the main international airports, making it ideal for major conferences and company teambuilding events.
Delegates at the popular residential conference centre enjoy the best of both worlds: superb facilities in a peaceful, beautiful countryside location and also easy access to London.
